*Yikes*
I've been here for a month now, and it's NOT getting easier.
Despite having already handed in multiple assignments and reading everything in front of me, I'm still freaking out about not knowing anything! My grammar class is a holy nightmare. I've never EVER seen anything like this before! I'm glad though that I'm not the only person that's stressing about this course. I was originally under the impression that I'm the only one that is having problems with figuring out grammar trees (yes, they DO exist). I'm happy to say now that practically the whole class is having problems... which works out, because we have a "quiz" (more like an exam) in just over 14 hours. My grammar notes and homework look like a page out of my old organic-chem notes and homework. There are lines and arrows shooting out from all over the place... I'm getting a migraine from looking at them... *groan*
I was on the phone with a friend from class earlier, and she was saying that if our conversation was bugged... people would have NO idea what we were talking about... Here's a transcription of part of our conversation:
O:"So, from the "s" you've got the "s-m" coming out of it? Then what did you do with that?"
R:"I pulled an adverb-sub out of the "s-m" then another "s" out of it too."
O:"Ok. Then what did you do with the "v-p"? Did you also pull a "p-p" then "n-p" out of that?"
R"Yeah."
Naaaasty, isn't it? Grammar is real dirty stuff, ya know.... Heehee...
Right, enough with this dirty pillow-talk. Time to hit the sack and wake up bright and early to study some more for this quizzie...~
