*Greetings from the Island!*
Greetings from Koh Samet!  It's GORGEOUS here!
Chris managed to convince me to travel without reservations at any hotels.  We've finally made it to the island of Koh Samet and we have a lovely little hut right on the beach.  I'm still getting used to the cold water showers (more like a dripping tap) and the toilets that need to be "flushed" by pouring water down the pipes.... but the food is good and I've already had 2 banana pancakes since arriving here yesterday afternoon.
The sand is bleach-white and powdery soft, the water is crystal clear... and we're renting motorbikes today to go exploring the island a little.  I'm trying to convince Chris that it is absolutely necessary that I go and visit the Turtle and Fish farms.... So I can let Yert and Myrt know of their ancestral roots...
