*The Tube*
It is DEFINITELY way too far to go for drinks on the Lower East Side, then haul ourselves back up to the Upper West Side at 1 o'clock in the morning. It took us a whole hour to get back up here! Next time though, we're definitely NOT going to be adventurous and just take the cab.
I had a lot of fun tonight. We went to Battery Park (right at the southern-most tip of Manhattan) to watch an outdoor ballet performance. The show was so good! It was basically ballet in drag... yeah D-R-A-G... Men dressed as Ballerinas... They were so good though! It was a satire on the traditional ballets, but not in a sloppy slapstick sorta way. Their technique was definitely pro, and they're all fully trained ballet-men (?). They were so graceful and precise... some were even better than women (in my opinion)...
We met up with some other people afterwards for drinks... and we went to this awesome place called "The Opium Den". It was such a nice place to be... but that was short-lived... We ended up going for dessert at this really good dessert place, then we tried out "Nublu"... but it's definitely just the shell there... What place ONLY serves beer and bad wine?
Anyways... it was a lovely, lovely day... and I'm really starting to like NYC a lot. I don't know how many times I've said it already... but the people are SO NICE HERE!
Time to crash... Hope y'all are well over there in HK and Canada! I miss y'all loads!~
