*Omigosh*...
I have 3 assignments due this week, and it's sucking all the energy out of me. I totally understand now what it feels like to be a student in HK. For EVERY assignment that's assigned, we're given a word-count restriction. There's nothing wrong with limiting the size of the assignments, but when they then break it down and "recommend" the number of words in particular sections?? THAT bothers me. Not only that, I have another assignment where I actually have to write down the number of words I've used in the document. Uh... hello? We're not children!! I swear, I wouldn't have so much trouble writing if I didn't have to keep thinking "oh no, have I gone over the word count in this section?"... omigosh... somebody save me...
Seriously, I've come to the point where I don't care about this program anymore. I just want to get the stuff done and out of the way. I'm not putting any effort into my writing, and it shows. My writing REEKS. I love teaching, but this program has managed to dampen my spirits about teaching older children. Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't learning inspire us and make us eager learners?? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this program was disheartening... it looks as though the people who still want to teach are the ones who want to do it for the stable income. And that's NOT the reason people should be giving for becoming teachers. Makes you wonder about the whole education system in HK, doesn't it?
Anyhoo... I've gotta run. I have to hand assignment 1 in, then head to work...~
